Excursion to Salt Plant
Class V students visited Salt Pan on 24 April 2025 as part of their educational field trip. The purpose of the visit was to understand how salt is naturally produced and harvested.
The students were excited to see the large, flat fields where seawater is allowed to collect and dry under the hot sun. The process was explained a guide who shared valuable information about traditional salt-making methods.
Students observed how salt is raked, collected, and stored. They also learned about the importance of salt in our daily life, how it’s purified before reaching our homes, and the hard work done by salt workers.
It was a hands-on learning experience that helped students connect classroom science with real-life applications. The trip also helped raise awareness about the effort that goes into making something as simple as the salt we use every day.
